INDIANA JONES AND THE TEMPLE OF DOOM was the second film in the series. Belloch was a great foil for Indy in the first one, how does Mola Ram compare and contrast? How about the villains in CRUSADE and KINGDOM? TEMPLE OF DOOM is at least partially responsible for the creation of the PG-13 rating from the MPAA. Did it go too dark? Did it hit it just right? TEMPLE OF DOOM was a massive box office success, but did it help the franchise or hurt it? INDIANA JONES AND THE LAST CRUSADE seems almost safe compared to Temple of Doom. A return to the more fun. For many people, this is their favorite (granted, most prefer Raiders), but what does it offer that’s MORE than just a return? After CRUSADE, it was 19 years before KINGDOM OF THE CRYSTAL SKULL arrived in theaters. A box office success by any measure, but not the most well received by audiences. A 53 rating by audiences after a franchise low of 81.. Why the audience hatred for this one? Karen Allen was back? A new adventure with Indy. A cool new archaeological find. What went wrong here?
